ATELIER NINE was founded in 2013 by textile conservator Sarah Glenn ACR. The atelier is the place to go to for information and advice on caring for all fashion garments, from historical and vintage clothing to contemporary pieces, as well as providing specialised fashion conservation services.
Sarah graduated from the University of Southampton with a MA in Textile Conservation, and also holds a PgDip History of Art from the Courtauld Institute and a BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion and Illustration. Her experiences of working in the fashion industry before moving to the arts and heritage profession means that Sarah is uniquely placed to provide advice and services on caring for vintage clothing and contemporary fashion.
ATELIER NINE is the direct result of these experiences and aims to provide the best advice to private owners and collectors, no matter how small or large the collection. Her work for ATELIER NINE is carried out on a private basis at her private studio or on site.
Sarah is an accredited member of the Institute of Conservation (ICON), and a member of the Dress and Textile Society (DATS) and the International Institute for Conservation (IIC).
Sarah also works as a senior textile conservator at the V&A Museum, London.
